As FIFA gamers continue to familiarize themselves with the recent 2022 release, EA has gone further to introduce more information about different modes in the game.
A certain announcement that has been received with excitement in Africa, has to be the update on EA’s global series and the inclusion of African countries.
EA confirmed Nigeria, Ghana, and Kenya have been added to eligible countries.
What does this mean for the countries and Africa? It means FIFA players in these countries who play online can compete for points which when accumulated, the gamers with the highest points will play qualifying rounds for a shot at the FIFA eWorld Cup.
Many have seen this inclusion as a welcome development and EA finally taking a look at Africa. Before this update, only gamers in Egypt and South Africa were eligible or were give a shot at the FIFA eWorld Cup.
Esports stakeholders believe this is an opportunity for African gamers to show what talent exists in the region and hope that it will be a start to seeing the first African eWorld Cup winner.
