When recognizing talent or youths making impact in Africa, the gaming and esports industry is not an area of focus.
Though the esports industry is still in its infant stage, so much has happened and the ecosystem is fast growing. A few talking points about its growth are, South Africa’s Duo Kaylan and The Beast Bianchi representing the continent in FIFA’s esports nations cup. Also the forth coming Commonwealth Esports championship in August, 6 countries are expected to be in attendance.
Recently Forbes Africa recognized Kenyan pro girl-gamer, Queen Arrow in their 30 under 30 class of 2022 cohort. The recognition was as a result of her hard work in the esports industry on the continent and what she symbolizes for women in gaming.
Forbes Africa 30 under 30 is a list of individuals under 30 years old in Africa issued annually by the popular Forbes magazine. Queen Arrow joins the list of pro-gamers in Africa featured on Forbes Africa alongside Beast Bianchi and Thabo Moloi, who were featured in 2021.
