NODWIN Gaming makes its esports tournaments open for the whole of Africa

South Asia’s leading esports company NODWIN Gaming set foot in South Africa earlier this year with its first international office in Johannesburg. NODWIN has now opened its operations to the rest of the African continent in a move to target a wider audience. The first step towards wider expansion is enabling the participation of the on-going Inkosi Super Cup, Last Chance Qualifiers, and future tournaments for teams and players from Africa.

NODWIN Gaming started off with South Africa as a mission to bring about a finely-structured esports ecosystem that boasts of viable career opportunities, meaningful partnerships, and business prospects. Upon identifying the potential of the continent and its immense love for esports, NODWIN set a clear goal of widening its base to the African continent. With over 5 years of experience and associations with global leaders like ESL, DreamHack, Blizzard, and Airtel, the company has established itself as a key player in the South Asia region.

NODWIN’s first international expansion is still fresh, but one thing led to the other and now we have extended our esports services for the diverse African continent and its gamers in less than 6 months. Our first operation in South Africa gave us a gist of the buzzing community of gamers in the rest of Africa and I feel that there could not be a better time to tap into the larger audience” said Akshat Rathee, MD & Founder, NODWIN Gaming.

The very first NODWIN operated tournament in South Africa, the Inkosi Super Cup is nearing its end. Inkosi is a qualifying tournament for the upcoming Umzansi Esports League. Although Inkosi was initially restricted to South African gamers, the tournament has now opened its last chance qualifier for the African continent. The registrations for the “Last Chance Qualifier” is set to take place from 5th to 12th July. The Last Chance Qualifier will determine the final contenders for the bigger Umzansi Esports League.

The number of slots up for grabs by the Last Qualifier winners per game:

CS:GO – 2 Teams

Tekken – 2 Players

FIFA20 – 2 Players

PUBG MOBILE – 8 Squads

Inkosi Super Cup took the South African gaming community by storm as one of the first esports tournaments in the region to have commenced at the time of the lockdown.
