After an intense series of battles from the pre-qualification and regional qualification rounds, the stage was set to determine Africa’s champion at the NBA2K25 eFIBA Championship. Teams from across the continent competed fiercely, but only one could rise to the top.
The semifinals saw four dominant teams vying for the coveted spot: Morocco, Algeria, Ivory Coast, and Nigeria.
In the first semifinal match, Morocco made quick work of Nigeria, securing two back-to-back victories with scores of 73-49 and 74-41, making it a decisive 2-0 series. On the other side, Algeria displayed their dominance by defeating Ivory Coast 92-53 and 83-50, also sweeping the best-of-three series.
The finals were set, with Morocco, the reigning regional champions, facing newcomers Algeria. Morocco, determined to defend their title, faced stiff competition in what became an epic showdown. The teams went head-to-head across three fiercely contested matches, but it was Algeria who emerged victorious, winning two out of the three games with scores of 50-58, 57-48, and 53-58.
With this 2-1 victory, Algeria dethroned Morocco and claimed the title of African champions. They will now represent the continent at the eFIBA World Championship in the Philippines, where they will compete against other regional champions for a chance to win a $50,000 grand prize.
